Terms of Service

These terms form an agreement between you and CareerMatch. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use CareerMatch.

The service

CareerMatch analyses a CV you provide against a job description you provide, produces a match score and gaps, and generates a tailored version of your CV that you can edit and download.

Your account

• You must provide accurate details and be at least 16 years old.
• You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity under your account.
• One account per person; accounts may not be shared or resold.

Acceptable use

• Only upload CVs and job descriptions you are entitled to use.
• Do not upload malicious files or attempt to break, probe or overload the service.
• Do not attempt to access another user's data.
• Do not use automated scraping or resell access to the AI features.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules.

AI output and your responsibility

The AI is instructed to re-frame only the information already present in your CV and must not invent employers, qualifications, skills or dates. Even so, AI output can contain mistakes. You are responsible for reviewing every tailored CV before sending it to an employer and for ensuring it is accurate and truthful. Match scores are an estimate and are not a prediction of any hiring outcome.

Plans, payments and renewals

• Prices are shown on the pricing page in GBP and include applicable taxes where stated at checkout.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
• Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from Plan & Billing; access continues until the end of the period you have paid for.
• One-off credit purchases are consumed as you use them and are not tied to a renewal date.
• Usage allowances apply per plan and are enforced by the service.

Refunds and cancellation rights

If you are a consumer in the UK or EU you have a 14-day right to cancel a purchase of digital services. Because the service is delivered immediately, by starting to use your allowance you accept that this right is lost once the service has been fully performed. Outside of that, if something has gone wrong, contact us and we will deal with it fairly.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Deleting the account cancels any active subscription and removes your CVs, applications and usage records.

Availability

We aim to keep CareerMatch available and reliable, but the service is provided "as is" without warranties. We may change or discontinue features, and maintenance or third-party outages can interrupt access.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost opportunities or lost job offers. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the date above and, where appropriate, notified by email. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
